This solution is based on VoIP technology and it is commonly known in the industry as callback solution.
It is designed for international call providers and customers in some countries (especially developing countries) where the telecommunications industry is still heavily regulated prohibiting private entrepreneurs of providing international call services and at the same time penalizing their citizens by paying very high international call rate that they shouldn't pay due to the innovation of VoIP.
This solution can also be used by customers around the world who can not use our calling card solution but want to make international calls and benefit our lowest international call rates. With this solution you can save up to 75% compare to the traditional way of making international calls.
How does callback solution works?
- The customer is provided with an access telephone number, a number which is Afritel Communications callback server number.
- The customer calls the access number. When the telephone rings once or two times, the caller hangs up.
- Afritel Communications callback server identifies the caller information and sends it to the Radius server for authorization.
- The Radius server checks the account balance with the billing server and authorizes the call.
- All this operations are done within seconds. The callback server calls back the caller and present him/her with a dial tone and prompt him/her to dial the destination number.
- Instead of the call being originated from the caller's country, the call is originated from Canada where Afritel Communications Gateway is located.
- Upon call completion, the billing server records the CDR information for the call that could be used for the billing purposes, reporting, or analysis.
